Witness Statement 1
This photo was taken in fields near Le Gouffre. Mr and Mrs Duquemin, who had been out walking on the cliffs, said the following:
"It caught our eye because it was pure white. Although it was a cloudy day, this thing seemed to glow, like it had its own light source. We tried to get closer but it glided off in to the tree line and we lost it. Yes, I mean it glided. It didn't seem to touch the floor. It was beautiful and graceful, whatever it was..."
Witness Statement 2
This was captured by Mr Christopher Thoume whilst out on his boat, heading from Guernsey to Herm. He noted how everything seemed very calm and still on the water, like the sea was holding its breath. He reports hearing a low growl, louder and deeper than his boat's engine, which is what made him look up. The object disappeared behind a cloud over the Rousse tower and he never saw it again...
Witness Statement 3
The 6th Guernsey scout troop were camping on Lihou when their Scout Leader spotted this creature and managed to take a photo before it sank back beneath the waves.
The Scouts reported seeing tentacles with suckers as big as satellite dishes and lots of blood (the source of which they couldn't distinguish). There was a small skiff with crab pots anchored about 500 metres away form Lihou which was sunk in the frenzy. The owner found his skiff washed up on the shore the next day, it appeared to be have been cut in to pieces by a sharp edge...
