Music for Marches

Our post-lockdown classes will focus on the March Project.  You can find info on this page: Y8 Music Project Page

EXTENSION WORK

A little bit of fun...

This Youtube clip contains a 'play along'.  You will find that you can improvise using the C pentatonic scale while this track plays in the back ground.  You could use the xylophone (press 'c' on your computer keyboard to set up as a C pentatonic xylo)

OR you could use your own instrument.

  • Guitar, bass, strings, flute, trombone, bassoon use C Maj pentatonic (C D E   G A)
  • Alto sax use A Maj pentatonic (A B C#   E F#)
  • Clari & trumpet use D Maj pentatonic (D E F#   A B)
  • Horn use G Maj pentatonic (G A B   D E)

Extension work

Record yourself playing one of the following songs. You could use an instrument and record on your phone or use Sound Trap - whatever works for you!

  • Dip Dip & Swing
  • Derry Ding Dong Dason
  • Dry Bones (+bonus marks here!)
